Hi, bit of a strange one but hoping someone maybe able to help. I've just been reformatting my main desktop machine (Windows). Previously I've always used just my main personal Microsoft account for Windows User account login. I work as a freelance designer for the games industry, so that also means I use my machine for gaming & personal projects too. Recently though I've found the noise from both on one account to be frustrating, and would prefer to keep them seperate so I have now setup my machine for the two seperate purposes. (There will be some crossover - so for instance I have edge using two profiles so I can access bookmarks from each - without switching user account etc - works well!) Adobe CC is also one of the things that may have some crossover. I will mainly be using it on my Production User account, but there will be times when I still want to use and access the libraries, files from my personal account too (Lightroom for one I would class as personal use, but libraries not so much of an issue there). Now I know its possible to move the location of the CC sync folder (always have done before anyway to keep it off my system drive) but before I try it, wondered if it was possible/advisable to set the two user accounts to point to the same location on a drive just to avoid duplication? Just want to check there would be no issues here first! Thanks for any advice!

Have had this same issue now for months. Running the latest nvidia drivers on a GTX980ti Bridge CC 2019 works fine if I open it independently, but if I right click a folder and browse with bridge, this error occurs every single time. Right clicking from explorer is far more useful on occasions, and this is rendering Bridge next to useless for me at the moment

This might be the planned behaviour but this is not whats happening to me. I open Bridge manually from the start menu the same issue occurs. In fact I HAVE to open Bridge this way because if I browse from within Photoshop etc. Bridge crashes with a GFX card dialog. An issue that has been occurring for at least the last year. I've grown tired of constantly searching for fixes to these constant bugs & for the main applications in the creative cloud suite at £50+ a month I should not have to. Thanks to ClusterX for finding a workaround solution. Shame Adobe could not have found this as quickly.

Don't see the correct answer as working, those checkboxes dont seem to have any relation to the problem and still dont fix it. Have also reset my associations but this still occurs. How do these updates even get through testing, is there any testing?!

wow, that's pretty crazy - 27 days ago - so presume this issue was present on insider builds and Microsoft decided to deploy it anyway! Thanks for posting that, think I'll stick with the notepad method for now as I dont trust changing the registry to not cause other problems down the line.

also, could anyone explain the difference between the two methods of using notepad file v uninstalling the update? Will the notepad fix possibly cause issues elsewhere - any benefits lost by bypassing windows ink in favour of wintab?

had this issue yesterday with both my huion tablets, sadly thought it was an issue with windows ink and decided to reformat my pc. Found the notepad fix from another thread when it still occurred, can Adobe push this problem through to Microsoft please? Feels like I'm getting nothing but issues at the moment from both adobe and Microsoft updates.

yup, just encountered yet another strange bug in a single psd, havent reported because I've no idea how it could be replicated. Cant duplicate a group! Can duplicate layers fine, but groups no, all in this one psd. Neither via the layers pallete or through Ctrl-J Opened a fresh PSD and works fine.

davescm wrote As at happens the system info we were gathering would not have spotted the problem in this case. As Adam from Adobe said earlier - the key difference was a display over 1080 px height. I fully understand the frustrations and annoyance - I've been there at times also where I have an issue and others don't. It just sometimes helps if we can all take a step back and try and spot the difference between systems that we can then take to the Adobe guys for a quicker fix. Dave Agree, but seriously I think Adobe get off pretty lightly with the amounts of rants I've seen. Being helpful of course is needed, but feels like Adobe are pretty much relying on the cheap(free) labour of their userbase to report and fix pretty crucial bugs. I nearly didn't even bother reporting this and left it for others, because I know an official fix will be days/weeks away. With the sub model, these hotfixes should be rolled out within hours or days, but they're always delayed to a .1 release. If the software cannot support such hotfixes without a complete redownload and reinstall then they should ensure that the crucial functions people rely on daily are working correctly before a release. This as it happens is a minor annoyance to me this time, but know what it will be like for others. Only a couple of versions ago, they completed borked the hotkey functionality of the alt key and this was released - how this can get beyond any sort of QA is beyond me.

davescm wrote Tanja2014 wrote no it´s an adobe issue as usual. So far - the only users to give system details are two who are not seeing the problem. If you are serious about getting to the bottom of the issue then please share some details so we can see if we spot a pattern that can narrow down the issue. If you only want to rant - then fine.. Dave not quite true, I posted my system specs and adobe versions early on in the post, but point taken. You've got to appreciate people's frustrations are down to the bugs that have been present in the last 3+ major updates to Photoshop. A lot of people work freelance, and the bugs, and reporting + following things up is costing everyone a lot of time & money, not to mention the pressure of deadlines from clients. It's not like the bugs have been niche, they've been on core components that have been tried & tested for years. When people see the updates with like 1 semi decent feature + 20 fluff features (stock, tooltips, welcome screens being forced upon them, it really doesnt help either). Also the fact that hotfixes are always at least a month away, and rarely seem to be tested properly. I have copies of pretty complex software such as Spine & 3DCoat, they push updates constantly have much smaller teams than Adobe have at their disposal

yeah agreed it has become a joke, photoshop was already bloated, and rather than spend time ensuring vital components work, they seem to spend it adding pointless tooltips and more ads/links to buy stock assets. Adobe are so used to having a monopoly on the creative side they have badly let their loyal users down. The alternatives are gaining ground and I'm readying myself to switch completely right now

davescm also tried here, and does not fix either, only opening & closing preferences for camera raw filter on start with no file open allows me to use it for that session

ok narrowed this down I think. I restarted Photoshop after it was working, opened the same file and tried directly opening camera raw filter again with ctrl shift a on a layer - same happens with selecting via the filter menus - the error was back. Also then going to preferences > camera raw filter would produce the error... however restarted again, and before opening the file went to preferences > camera raw filter, dialog opens, closed it, opened the file again and works

So updated from 18 back to 19.1.1 after hearing the pen tool crash was fixed. Now the camera raw filter doesn't work. Says incompatible with this version of Photoshop? Is an update for that pending or have I missed something? Seriously fed up of switching versions right now, one thing fixed, another problem introduced. CC is turning into a disaster right now

Also the only other thing I thought that could be related, was I have disabled the font cache service on Windows. I need to do this to work with nexus font for dynamically loading fonts. (Some changes were made in Windows 10 anniversary update that made this a requirement)

No not a custom workspace, I used to have one setup, but thought it could be part of the issue, so reformatted my windows drive and this is pretty much a vanilla setup... System info as below... glad to hear I'm not alone! Yes also happens to me more often when opening a file directly too, though still occasionally when just opening the program empty. I also tried disabling the welcome screen, but seems unrelated and just a symptom.

When photoshop loads it occasionally fails to load the default workspace, welcome screen or the file that was requested. This occurs randomly without warning on boot. Had this issue originally with 19.1, but after crashes with the pen tool reformatted my PC and installed 19.0 with the same problem. Opening the workspace manually does bring up the panels, but photoshop is often unresponsive afterwards, so a close and restart is required. No plugins are currently used, but I do use NexusFont for loading fonts into memory (which is never been a problem before - so doubt this is related)

I have the same problem. Every version of CC since 2016 for me has been more and more unstable. After updating I now have both this as a constant crash - and also a welcome screen that disappears every nth time I open photoshop - this also stops the workspaces from opening. Paranoid that it was an issue with my PC I have actually just spent all day today reformatting my system with a fresh install but the errors still occur. Hugely disappointing. Seriously considering cancelling my CC subscription and moving to alternatives right now

This really should be fixed by now. I understand 2018 was a fairly substantial update, but I also don't buy the response above from David about workflows. Sure if it's an obscure command that is occasionally used but the alt key is used considerably by the default keyboard shortcuts and the majority are now broken. Workarounds are not ideal because you are retraining muscle memory that when fixed will have to revert back. Many simply don't have time to revert to previous versions reinstall settings layouts etc (since the sync feature was taken away as well, can take a while depending on how much customization has been made). Hotfixes for vital issues like this should be sooner, (if games can be launched then patched on day 1 or 2 why can't the CC suite?) I pay over £600 per year for the suite, CC is not cheap and your community of customers are losing time and revenue by working with broken software. May seem pedantic but seconds over a day become minutes and hours over weeks/months. There was a time when Adobe didn't have much competition for this field but that has changed. I can already see myself working away from the program to competitors such as Affinity/Sketchbook/Pro Create etc. This debacle is only going to push other customers in the same direction. Whilst I had no issues with CC as a premise, Adobe still seems to have the same monopolistic attitude that end users will have to put up with these problems. Sorry but they won't. If it's not fixed within the week I'll be sending an official complaint, and requesting compensation (as many other decent companies offer when these things arise).

and another here! Guessing this is an issue for all. Please fix this urgently! If you're going to push major updates out without basic testing like this, really should be hotfixes for issues like this a lot sooner (and more often!)

So I've managed to set this up pretty well with GoodSync (only workspaces at the moment). Have set to sync rather than backup to my Creative Cloud folder, that way can make adjustments on more than one pc and simply sync back to Photoshop. It has an automode that will run when the file changes and also a ton of settings for syncing at shutdown, periodically etc.

Damn! I actually never used this feature properly but had planned to. (Can't believe I've only actually now noticed its gone!) Problem for me was I never spent the time really setting things up exactly how I liked, so when it did sync it usually pulled down a mess of an interface (but familiar) after a reformat. CC Libraries are more of a hindrance imo and should have been the feature that was dropped. Content is easier to manage backup and sync yourself than settings of the program itself. Just another way for Adobe to push their storage plans I guess Since Adobe finally allowed brushes to be managed properly (but still nothing for the rest of the options - such as custom shapes) I've been looking to set things up a little better now from scratch. (Had a reformat yesterday for the fall creators update + CC 2018). One workaround I'm looking into now is using Goodsync to sync the PS settings into my Creative Cloud folder. Will see how that pans out.
